Lacrosse Friendship Festival Returns for Second Year

In its second year, the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy (BLA) and PlayersSports will be organizing with the support of numerous other lacrosse organizations the Lacrosse Friendship Festival. This year, the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware in care of "Colin Zwickert."    Story

    U.S. Defeats Iroquois in Lacrosse U-19 Opener | July 4, 2008
    Coquitlam, British Columbia -- The United States opened 2008 International Lacrosse Federation U-19 World Championship play with a 20-15 win over the Iroquois at Percy Perry Stadium. Attacker Andrew Feinberg (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh/Brown) led all scorers with five goals, and teammate Craig Dowd (East Northport, N.Y./Northport/Georgetown) tallied four. The victory lifted the Americans to a perfect 30-0 in U-19 international play since the first championship in 1988.

    Results from Day 6 of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout | July 4, 2008
    The first day ever for Men's Elite with pool play began on Thursday, and all 18 teams took the field in attempt to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. The top two seeds moved on in all four pools, while the bottom 10 teams moved to the consolation bracket. The Women's Elite tournament also started on Thursday with their first day of pool play. Pool play will continue today before sorting into bracket play for the weekend.

    UNIONDALE, N.Y. - If there is one thing that is guaranteed about Major League Lacrosse, it is the fact that fans can be sure they will see plenty of scoring. The game between New Jersey and Long Island was no exception as the teams combined for a season-high 46 points in the Pride's 26-20 victory over the Lizards at Mitchel Athletic Complex, snapping Long Island's five-game win streak.

    BOSTON, MA - Thursday, July 3, 2008 - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) were defeated by a score of 16-14 in a close battle with the reigning MLL Champion Philadelphia Barrage, in front of 5,883 fans at Harvard Stadium on Thursday night.

    Tierney Announces Princeton Lacrosse Class of 2012 | July 3, 2008
    The Princeton University men's lacrosse Class of 2012 will graduate a few days after the Class of 1992 celebrates the 20th anniversary of Bill Tierney's first NCAA championship with the Tigers. While it's impossible to know what the newest class of Princeton lacrosse players will celebrate at their own 20th reunion, Tierney is optimistic.

    WLax: Cornell Women's Lacrosse Announces Class of 2012 | July 3, 2008
    ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell women's lacrosse program will get an infusion of new talent for the 2009 season with the addition of 11 incoming freshmen that make up the Class of 2012. Head coach Jenny Graap '86 will add three U.S. Lacrosse high school All-Americans and seven Scholastic All-Americans to the roster to replace seven decorated seniors.
