About BLA

In 2005 the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy was established to provide the very best lacrosse training in Western New York and created its own Complete Student-Athlete Player Development Program. The BLA Complete Student-Athlete Player Development Model emphasizes the technical and tactical element of lacrosse with the emphasis constantly on character and academics first. We have offered year-round training including ‘open gym’ time in the winter where athletes train on their own or with friends.

My First Stick

Since 2010 the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy has offered its My First Stick clinics as an introduction to lacrosse for both boys and girls ages 3-5.  Children who take part in the My First Stick program are taught the basic rules and skills of lacrosse, all while developing hand/eye coordination, engaging in exercise, good sportsmanship and fun of the game.

We encourage and sometimes need parents to participate.  Otherwise, parents are NOT allowed on any turfed surface per facility rules. Children must wear Goggles, no helmets are allowed.

If your child is a more advanced 5 year old, please place him in one of our Grade 1-2 Programs programs that run at the same time.

Training Academies

Buffalo Lacrosse Academy since 2005 has offered the very best in training in WNY.  Our year round lacrosse training academies are for all players, regardless of other club or school team affiliations. Each academy is broken up by season; Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Our unique player to coach ratio allows for specialized attention for each player.  Most importantly we hear all the time how “organized the BLA is.”  We promise to run the very best training sessions that tailors the training level and intensity by player abilities while ensuring the student-athletes have fun and develop a passion for the sport.
