Team Buffalo Experience
Team Buffalo is the best and most successful travel lacrosse program in WNY and Southern Ontario. The teams train and compete in tournaments in the Spring/Summer and Fall. The teams also train throughout the winter and receive discounts to additional BLA programs. We approach each team and age group differently. Our youngest teams generally attend 1-day tournaments relatively close to home. As these teams get older we attend more competitive events in Maryland and family ‘laxcation’ style events in Lake Placid and more. Our high school teams attend highly competitive college recruited events and showcases. Team Buffalo players will work with our passionate staff who are committed to their development both on and off the field. Parents have the piece of mind of being apart of a highly structured, well-organized and caring lacrosse experience.
Team Buffalo Advantage
Few club travel teams are older than the BLA and we have developed the highest reputation as a program for our play and character both on and off the field. Our teams benefit and impact each of our players in different ways but the lessons, values, and memories they gain we hope last a lifetime. Team Buffalo has developed a huge network with other strong clubs around the country including serving as a founding member of the Lax Federation (LAXFed). The LAXFed presents opportunities for our players to play for teams from around the country and on its national team!
Team Buffalo Family
Team Buffalo prides itself on building unique and diverse friendships by bringing families together from all three neighboring nations including the US, Canada & Haudenosaunee (Iroquois). With our year-round training, there are plenty of opportunities for our families to bond both on and off the field. Each team hosts team tailgates at all our tournaments with all our teams ending their summer season at a program-wide tailgate at the Niagara Classic.
Team Buffalo Beyond the Game
Our greatest accomplishment has been building lacrosse life-long friendships. We aspire to see players who start playing together at the youth level stay together into high school and beyond. This is why we began the much coveted Buffalo Cup (mens league) in 2010 and take a post high school team to Lake Placid each summer.
Team Buffalo College Bound
Paramount to the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy is consulting both our players and parent’s in the college-discovery phase of high school and even post high school years. Our goal is to see our student athlete find the ‘right-fit’ college if they have the drive to play college lacrosse. From the highest Division 1 to Junior College, there are many ways to ensure each Team Buffalo athlete finds a college that suits their personal and family needs while challenging them. We are so proud of all our former Team Buffalo athletes who have played college lacrosse (over 200) and the many college captains we have assisted. Some of the programs that have had Team Buffalo alum captain their college teams include: PENN State, Providence, UMBC, Canisius, Marist, Siena, Manhattan, Mercyhurst, Lemoyne, Nazareth, Brockport, RIT, Oswego, Medaille, Hamilton, Oberlin, Genesee CC, and more!
How to Join
Team Buffalo conducts player evaluations at the end of July each year. Each player selected to join one of our teams is required to pay a deposit upon registering. The teams train in the fall and attend 1-3 tournaments, training indoors during the winter months focusing on skill development, are able to attend winter ‘open gym’ time when they can work on their skills on their own or with teammates, train in the spring and attend 3-4 tournaments.
